I’m a licensed clinical Mental Health Counselor with a master's degree in community mental health counseling. I am licensed in NC, SC, NY, and OR. I have over 10 years of experience working with children, families, and adults. I am Certified in trauma-focused CBT, and trained in the trauma resiliency model. I am an adoptee and have been involved/worked with the adoptee community, foster care system, alternative education, and corrections environments. I am also trained as an adoption-competent mental health provider.
Working with crisis intervention and community-based therapy has taught me the value and need to educate providers about attachment/adoption. Trauma starts in the womb and also increases with separation from a parent. I am currently working on a book about parenting skills, and how to reduce toxic parenting in children's lives.
